Today we honor Donovan Waite Shihan on the 2nd anniversary of his passing. Donovan was a member of the USAF Technical Committee, and a beloved teacher to aikidoka around the world. This beautiful photo by Jaime Kahn captures Yamada Sensei and Donovan Sensei in a rare Yamada Sensei bokken class (2014). It also highlights so beautifully their deep connection and unwavering love, which were evident every time they were on the mat together.
We miss you Donovan. We miss you Yamada Sensei. You are both in our hearts forever.
