USAF TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

The Technical Committee of the USAF ("TC") helps oversee the technical standards of the USAF, as well as overseeing some of the responsibilities that were under the direction of Yamada Sensei.

Yamada Sensei created the current TC by bringing together a select group of Shihan instructors who have dedicated their lives to the practice and instruction of aikido. The current TC are senior students of founding Shihankai members. TC members preside over dan testing, and are regularly invited to instruct aikido seminars in the U.S. and around the world. The TC Policy lays forth its purpose and procedures, including that eligibility requires the rank of 7th dan. TC members serve 4-year renewable terms. An aikido organization must have a technical committee in order to be eligible for Aikikai recognition.
